Anadolu Shipyard had a Launching Ceremony for QL80, Fuwairit (LCT) on 25th of September 2021, only after 9 months from the steel cutting, with the presence of Qatari Amiri Naval Forces Major General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Sulaiti, Turkish Naval Forces Commander Adnan Özbal, Barzan Holdings Vice President Abdulla Al Khater, senior officials from Qatari and Turkish sides.
QL80 is the first Landing Craft Tank built by a private shipyard in Turkey to be exported. Staffed by a total of 25 people, the ship will be armed with 30mm guns and two 12.7mm STAMP guns, both manufactured by Aselsan. The ship will be capable of carrying three main battle tanks, as well as military vehicles of various types and sizes, or 260 fully equipped troops.
Anadolu Shipyard’s unique and fastest LCT proven design was built successfully as 8 pieces to Turkish Navy before.
The ship is planned to join Qatar’s Navy forces before 2022 World Cup
